A new one-stop-shop for the Australian aid program, AusConnect, has been officially opened, connecting people and suppliers across Australian aid contracts.
Assistant Minister for International Development and the Pacific, Senator Anne Ruston, said the online market place will make it easier to link searchers and suppliers and to find opportunities to engage in the Australian aid program.
"Contractors will advertise their procurements through AusConnect so that searchers only need to go to one place to look for opportunities," Minister Ruston said.
"It will reduce the costs of advertising and searching, with savings flowing on to the beneficiaries of Australian aid.
"This will also benefit small business, NGOs and individual experts that face relatively large business development expenses.
"The Morrison Government is committed to making use of every dollar we invest in our aid program."
Suppliers and individuals could have previously faced significant costs searching multiple web sites and information sources to identify opportunities to work with the Australian aid program.
