Today I will travel to Bali to represent the Australian Government at the Bali Clean Energy Forum.

The Bali Clean Energy Forum aims to bring together government and business leaders to discuss the development of clean energy in the Asia-Pacific region. The Forum will also focus on strengthening energy resilience in the region.

Australia and Indonesia have an important bilateral relationship. Australia’s two-way trade with Indonesia was nearly $15 billion in 2014-15, with energy and resources being an important component of this trade. Both countries are key players in the Asia-Pacific region.

Through forums such as this, cooperation between Australia and the Asia-Pacific can be strengthened. My attendance at this Forum will continue the work already undertaken by the Australian Government to promote the role of the Asia-Pacific in the global energy and resources agenda.
