Nowra to host the Government’s 111th FTA seminar for business
Assistant Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, Mark Coulton, will visit Nowra on Tuesday to host the Government’s 111th free seminar for local business on how to benefit from Australia’s Free Trade Agreements.
The free seminar at the Shoalhaven Entertainment Centre from 1pm to 3pm on 11 December 2018 is part of a series that has travelled to all corners of the nation to help businesses take advantage of FTAs.
Troy Creighton, Managing Director of local business Stormtech, a market leader in drainage solutions, will share how his company has used FTAs to develop overseas markets for its products and expand its business.
FTAs are delivering significant benefits to Australian businesses seeking to expand their global footprint.
“A whole range of Australian products now receive tariff-free or preferential access to more than a billion potential customers in China, Japan and Korea thanks to agreements negotiated by the Australian Government,” said Assistant Minister Coulton.
In addition to FTAs with the fast-growing markets of China, Japan and Korea, the Government has also concluded or signed agreements with 11 Pacific Rim nations (TPP-11), Indonesia (IA-CEPA) and Peru (PAFTA).
Lachlan Crews, Assistant Secretary in the Regional Trade Agreements Division of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Elena Kirillova, NSW State Director for Austrade, will also address the seminar about the practical benefits of FTAs for business. In addition, attendees will hear from representatives from Efic – Australia’s export credit agency – and AusIndustry.
