Southeast Asia’s position as one of the fastest growing regions in the world is presenting major opportunities for Australian businesses, according to the latest Australian Business in ASEAN Survey.
The survey recognises the benefits of regional free trade agreements which remove barriers and promote certainty for businesses in the region.
Today in Manila, I launched the tenth survey, conducted by the Australia-ASEAN Chamber of Commerce in partnership with RMIT University and with support from the Australian Government.
The annual survey provides practical insights into Australian business sentiment and experiences across Southeast Asia.
At a time of global economic uncertainty, Australian businesses remain confident in Southeast Asia’s future and the opportunities the region offers.
Australia’s economic security and prosperity are linked to Southeast Asia.
The Australian Government is committed to deepening ties with ASEAN, including through its trade roadmap Invested: Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040.
Collectively, the countries of ASEAN are our second largest trading partner, and the Australian Government looks forward to working with our friends in the region to further deepen economic cooperation.
