This week I will travel to Singapore to represent Australia at Singapore International Cyber Week (SICW).
The visit will also advance Australia’s economic partnership with Singapore and identify new opportunities for cooperation across Southeast Asia.
I will attend the inaugural SICW Ministerial Roundtable, which will bring together ministers and senior cyber security and frontier AI industry representatives for a closed-door discussion on AI-enabled cyber threats.
I look forward to meeting with ASEAN Member States and Dialogue Partners at the ASEAN Ministerial Conference on Cybersecurity. Discussion will focus on strengthening regional cyber cooperation, and better coordination of capacity building initiatives to address current and emerging threats and maximise benefits for the region.
During the visit, I will set out Australia’s commitment to practical cooperation, long-term investment in cyber resilience and secure digital transformation.
I will also reinforce the need for countries to work together to deter malicious cyber activity, preserve stability in cyberspace and uphold responsible state behaviour.
Singapore and Australia are longstanding friends and partners, with shared interests in a peaceful, stable and prosperous region.
I will join a briefing on how we together can support the region’s energy transition, including by mobilising Australian investment through Invested: Australia’s Southeast Asia Economic Strategy to 2040 and Singapore’s Financing Asia’s Transition Partnership.
I will also engage with Australian and Singaporean business leaders to strengthen commercial ties, discuss talent mobility and identify practical opportunities for two-way investment across Southeast Asia.
