Wine exporter to share secrets of export success at free FTA seminar in Margaret River

Assistant Minister for Trade, Tourism and Investment, Mark Coulton, will visit Western Australia’s Margaret River region on 6 March 2019 to host a free seminar for local businesses on Australia’s Free Trade Agreements.

Sharon Bosveld, Proprietor of the James Halliday five-star rated winery, Churchview Estate, will share her insights on developing and marketing the Churchview brand in emerging global markets, and how FTAs have contributed to that success.

The breakfast seminar, at Eight Willows Retreat in Metricup from 7:30am to 10:00am on Wednesday 6 March, is part of a series to help businesses take advantage of Free Trade Agreements that has travelled to all corners of the nation.

FTAs deliver significant benefits to Western Australian businesses such as Churchview. The global market for Australian wine continues to expand, and Australia’s FTAs provide an additional competitive edge for our exporters.

“Australian primary producers are reaping the benefits of tariff-free or preferential access to powerhouse economies in Asia including China, Japan and Korea thanks to free trade agreements negotiated by the Australian Government,” said Mr Coulton.

In addition to FTAs with the fast-growing markets of China, Japan and Korea, the Government has recently signed agreements with eleven Pacific Rim nations (TPP-11), Indonesia (IA-CEPA) and Peru (PAFTA).

Trade experts on hand to provide advice at the seminar will include:

The FTA Seminar will be followed immediately by an information session on the Trusted Trader program from 10.15am to 11.15am.
