Visit to Tuvalu

  • Media Release

This week I will travel to Tuvalu to hear first-hand from the Government about its priorities and to continue to deepen our close partnership.

I look forward to meeting Prime Minister Kausea Natano and members of his Cabinet to discuss how we can work together to strengthen Tuvalu’s economic and environmental resilience.

The visit is a key opportunity to advance our shared interests in a strong and united Pacific Islands Forum.

Tuvalu is a global leader in climate action. During my visit I will reaffirm Australia’s commitment to ambitious climate action.

I will also visit the Tuvalu Coastal Adaptation Project to see the critical work Australia is supporting to protect the lives, livelihoods and culture of Tuvaluans in the face of climate change.

Australia and Tuvalu are committed to realising our shared vision for a peaceful, prosperous and resilient Pacific.
